6 New Homes to Revitalize Youngstown Neighborhood
The Land Bank is glad to be part of the new home building project that’s revitalizing a
neighborhood on Youngstown’s South Side and meeting a need for more affordable housing.
Leaders of the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp., the Land Bank, the City of
Youngstown and other community development advocates broke ground recently for the second phase of the building project on Cliff View Street (formerly Bernard Street), located off Glenwood Avenue, just south of Mahoning Avenue.
Three new homes are under construction, following the completion of three homes last year. All
six homes are located on property the Land Bank acquired years ago through tax foreclosures
and made available for this revitalization effort.
The high-quality, affordable homes completed during the project’s first phase sold for about
$200,000 each.
