Davenport Shares Greening Expertise, Tips on WKBN’s ‘Let Me Grow’
Gary Davenport, project coordinator at the Mahoning County Land Bank, spends much of his
time leading greening initiatives. He recently joined Laurel Stone on WKBN-TV’s “Let Me Grow” segment, which features local experts sharing gardening tips, plant care advice and community resources.
The Land Bank grows native plants at CityScape at Briel’s, the Mahoning Valley’s last urban greenhouse, and transplants them throughout its inventory of properties. Davenport and staff also partner with community groups on beautification projects and participate in local plant sales to promote the use of native species.
