Sophia Buggs reflects on her longtime partnership with the Mahoning County Land Bank and how it helped turn vacant land into an opportunity for growth. More than a decade ago, she contacted the Land Bank to lease nine parcels behind her home to create a community garden.

After years of restoring and cultivating the property, Sophia recently purchased the land from the Land Bank and continues to grow Lady Buggs Pharm.
