Land Bank Releases 15-Year Impact Report, Emphasizes ‘Every Property Has Promise’

The Mahoning County Land Bank today released its 15-Year Impact Report, highlighting the organization’s evolution over the years, from clearing neglected properties to building new opportunities across Mahoning County.

The 16-page report details how the Land Bank has utilized public funding and strong community partnerships to carry out acquisitions, demolitions, greening initiatives and property restoration projects.

The Land Bank has positively impacted more than 10,000 properties through demolition, property transfers, home rehabilitation, new housing development, brownfield cleanup and land beautification efforts. Together, these activities have generated an estimated $79 million in economic impact through contracts with companies and service providers that support local employment and strengthen the tax base.

The report features program highlights, current initiatives, partner spotlights and stories that illustrate the impact of the Land Bank’s work over the past 15 years.

“If the Land Bank is the center of the revitalization wheel, then our partners are its spokes,” said Debora Flora, executive director. “We plan to keep that wheel turning to increase economic investment and create more vibrant communities for years to come. Here’s to another 15 years of momentum!” ”
