Mahoning County Land Bank Receives Auditor of State Award
Mahoning County Land Bank’s excellent record keeping has earned the Auditor of State Award for a second time, based on a recent financial audit that returned a clean report.
The Auditor of State Award is presented upon the completion of a financial audit by the State Auditor or an independent public accountant. Entities that receive the honor meet the following criteria of a “clean” audit report:
- The entity must file timely financial reports with the Auditor of State’s office in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);
- The audit report does not contain any findings for recovery, material citations, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, Single Audit findings or questioned costs;
- The entity’s management letter contains no comments related to ethics referrals, questioned costs less than $10,000, lack of timely report submission, reconciliation, failure to obtain a timely Single Audit, findings for recovery less than $100 or public meetings or public records.
Mahoning County Land Bank also received the Auditor of State Award in 2016, after another clean biennial audit.
“This award is a reflection of the high emphasis we place upon accuracy and accountability in achieving excellent audit results. Our Executive Director, Debora Flora, and the entire staff at the County Land Bank are to be commended,” said Daniel R. Yemma, who as Mahoning County Treasurer serves as the County Land Bank’s Chairman of the Board of Directors.
